Why is this racist charge case dragging out so long? Racism is anti-social, but it doesn't seem, to me, to be a serious crime. Twenty minutes in the Magistrates Court, surely.

Acted like an entitled arse, knows (hopefull... but you never know these days) she's in the wrong - but can afford high paid lawyers

Her and her girlfriend got in a taxi both bevvied then one of them was sick in the back. Driver as you'd expect was fuming when they refused to pay costs, so he called 999 and was told to drop them at the police station. On the way there they smashed out the back window, and claimed it's because they were scared he was abducting them.

Police officers told them in the station to just pay the damages and it could all be forgotten about, but she started ranting about sexism, racism, and how much money she makes, amongst other things. The thing that's landed her in court is that she called the policeman "stupid and white" for not taking their side.

It appears pretty open and shut imo. Her defence is going with "she's suffered racism all her life and a white person can't understand how she felt at that moment" type argument, which I have to say is not a very strong one. Had she said he was "stupid and black", then her career would obviously be in tatters. Worst that will happen to her I think will she'll lose a few sponsors and probably the international captaincy. But from watching the body cam footage of the exchange she comes across as a nasty piece of work who's had her publicly persona totally manufactured for her.

I would make an example, purely to set precedence that Racism isn't acceptable full stop.

No jail sentences, maybe community service.

But ultimately, she caused commotion by not owning her actions and then breaking a window in "fear".

For what it's worth, I wouldn't have been bothered in the slightest if she'd have said "cooked it up sorry", but to spin it? Runs in the family... doesn't have to be a major sentence just be guilty 😂

Sorry if I sound like a crank.

The brother seems nice... a taxi incident in amongst it all too.

Is the sick in a cab not a civil case?

Don’t think it’s anyone’s place to tell a woman how to feel when in a taxi - celebrity or not - because drivers are generally quite weird towards them.

Can quite easily imagine that driver putting them in fear. Heard plenty of stories from my girlfriend and her friends on bad experiences with drivers worrying them and being relieved to be out of the car.
