I remember them doing a segment on peter beagrie showcasing his skills and backflips just before we signed him. I don't think I was ever as excited by a new signing, that soon disappeared as he went back and beat the same full back for the third or fourth time, put the bloody ball in the box you tit. Still it was must see television, don't even mind st John, but greavsie was boss

This programme WAS my childhood. My dad used to work Saturday mornings, and would rush home, frantically make my sister and I beans on toast so he could get in front of the telly in time for Saint and Greavsie. It was my first introduction into the institution that is professional football, and I always thought Jimmy Greaves seemed like a top bloke.

St John had a chip on his shoulder for some reason, Greavsie was a top bloke and had a great sense of humour,at his peak there were no better strikers about he just seemed to walk the ball into the net.
