Saha number change

It's his lucky number. He was born on the 8th of August (8/8) so he requested it at the first opportunity.

When I was on a stadium tour a couple of years ago, the kitman (Jimmy???), said that Saha thought the 9 was unlucky so he had to put a small 1 on the shirt. He changed to 8 the year after.

Well... 9 in French is neuf. Pont Neuf is a bridge over the river Seine in Paris. As a boy, Saha fell into the river Seine, and his mates said he was In Seine...hence, he wanted a change.

The number of leeches applied to his porcelain knees this time in search of the miracle sure that didn't work last time.

on his day hes up there with them ,

NO HE ISN'T!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

He is one of our worst players, and nothing frustrates me more than people talking about what a world-class player he is, and how "if we can just get King Louis fit we'll be OK"...

He is totally ineffective, and has been for the majority of his stay, but he sporadically scores goals to convince people otherwise, usually when he is playing at his worst, and ensuring he isn't dropped or dragged off like anyone else.

The team is worse for him being in it.

Whoa, agenda much? No Saha IS world class and I actually don't think he's been playing badly despite not scoring. Certainly been more effective than Cahill.

Also who else do we play? Vellios? Big ask for such a young lad to start up top on his own.

Saha is a representation of the fans as a player.
He's absolutely world class, on the odd occasion that he can be arsed.

I was there v Chelsea 2010 when he single handedly infused John Terry with a burning hatred of black people. I was there v Blackpool when he scored four, having previously never managed a Premier League hat trick. I was there when he scored the fastest ever FA Cup Final goal.

He may not be consistent enough to be labelled a genuinely world class player but as fox said, ON HIS DAY he is unbeatable. Those days are just fewer and fewer coming.
