' Safe Standing '

Now that's a good idea. Seats are in standing mode, and at half time, the locks are released and folk get to literally 'vote with their feet' and sit down. If more than 50% of seats get sat in, all seats drop, and a big klaxon goes off in the changing rooms to inform the players that the game is so boring the fans have decided to sit down for the second half. The players then get showered in gunk and wet fish as punishment.
Without doubt, this is the best idea I've read on any web site in years. Bring it in.

I'm all for this. The new style rail seating is light years ahead in terms of safety compared to how things used to be back in the day of fenced in terraces. I genuinely think that many of those opposed to this on terms of safety reasons haven't actually took the time to look into exactly how these things are designed or implemented.

one of the main issues regards hillsboro, was the fact the fans were fenced in like animals and the gates that led on to the pitch were locked. if anything happened like that at one of todays games the fans could just flood on to the pitch to stop anything disasterous happening as we are not completely trapped in with anti hooligan type fencing anymore.

Indeed. Arguably the terracing was not the issue at Hillsborough, it was the fencing.

I never ever ever sit down at a match. I even stand in my house if we play away and it on the box. I pray if we get a new stadium there's a safe standing section for the likes of me to stand in. I've been to many grounds in Europe to watch us and safe standing is safer than searing imo.

And I hope if a vote go's in, the club asks the fans opinion before making a decision.
