Do you think it should come back into Football in England?

Collymore doing a debate on talkSport now if anyone fancys a listen.

I'm not sure myself

Depending on how they define 'safe standing' I would back a trial. For me safe standing would have to be 100% no risk of the crushes we had in the past, and no risk of being blocked in by supporters either side. It would also have to be as safe for small children, pensioners and the disabled. Yes that is a challenging standard, but we all know what happens when corners are cut on crowd safety.

Yes I think we should bring it back the key word is safe standing not terreces. There should be a cap on the amount of safe standing like say max 30% total allocation of the ground.

If it did come back where would you have the safe standing personally I would have it from the corner of the bullens and gwladys street up to gt5 the first third of the park end near the away fans and half the away section of the bullens. That would be about 9-12 k so people can sit or stand what ever there preference

The Hillsborough tragedy aside I don't see why it's an issue tbh. Germany (a football culture most similar to ours) shows it can be done safely.

For those who don't want to stand, just buy seat tickets. #simples

Would love to see it come back, even just to one or two stands so you have the optian to go into standing section or to go into seating section

Small children, pensioners and disabled should not be allowed anywhere near a standing section. Standing works perfectly well in rugby but is still only a small part of the gate in reality. Most people now seem to prefer seating...

Told at least 8 @premierleague clubs want safe-standing to be introduced. Villa have offered to trial it so fans can sit or stand

In small areas, without the fences that were in place when I first started match going, I'd like a trial at least.

It's a big issue, especially up here but if there's enough planning involved, and proper policing and stewarding, I don't see why it shouldn't be at least tried or considered.

They are thinking of leaving the seats in place, withe a metal framework attached to the back of each seat, like a barrier, and if everyone is allocated a seat there would be no crushing, would have to be in a specified area tho.

I'm for it; there is a major difference between the old terraces and the safer standing idea. If people aren't aware how it have a look at the following: http://www.safestandingroadshow.co.uk/. The fact that you have an allocated area(seat number basically) should make it a lot easier to steward, you still have you walkways that can be patrolled to ensure safety

There is a call for it, the idea that the areas can be returned to seating should allow for at least a trial in smaller sections. The technology and policing at football is so different to what it was when the tragedy happened.

They are called rail seats and can be either locked in the up or down position, so you would have either a standing area only or seating only. Having seen a sample, I think its a good idea, and also gives an opportunity to increase capacity safely.

So long a sit is safe, I see no problem with it

Some people like to stand, they can stand there. Other's who want to sit can buy a ticket to another stand

I'd like to also see an increase in disabled seating as well though

You can fit more people in a standing area, so you would have more space for disabled seating as well
