Russell Brand will be a guest pundit in the studio on MOTD tonight

'Analysing' West Ham's match vs Man Utd. Apparently it is in aid of Sport Relief.

Anyone else remember the last time MOTD did something similar? About 20 years ago, ironically for the last day of the 1993/94 season, the famous Everton 3-2 Wimbledon game, the guest pundits that day were Frank Skinner & David Baddiel.

Brand is an established football writer. He had a regular weekly column at The Guardian's football site for a couple of years. He knows his guff, tho' sometimes the writing got a bit too Will-Self-wannabe.

Used to believe Brand to be a complete a*se, but actually think he is clever, intelligent and says things others wouldn't, him and Noel Gallagher do well together, shame it isn't both of them...

and unlike Brand he played pro football for 20 years.

Not sure what your point is, kidda. I was just helping out the lids who only know Russell Brand the celebrity, who maybe weren't aware he's got previous as a published football commenter.
