Run For Their Lives in 2013

Hello Everyone!

After the success of London 2012, we’re hoping you’re all up for pulling on your trainers and hitting the streets to get fit and help raise hundreds of pounds for KidsCan’s vital childhood cancer research.

As we’re all in the North West these challenges would be a lot more accessible than the Great North Run!

We always have places in the Great Manchester Run (10Km) – 26th May or if you’re feeling brave there’s always the Greater Manchester Marathon (28th April)!

As with all our major runs, Great North Run, Great Manchester Run and Greater Manchester Marathon, we don’t even charge people to take part!
Instead we ask for a post-dated £60 deposit cheque which is not cashed or banked.

We ask for it to cover the cost of your place if you cannot run, as places are non-transferrable.
There are minimum sponsorship targets for the runs but we do supply you with
• A KidsCan running vest, to run and train in
• Personalized Sponsor Forms
• A JustGiving.com sponsor website

Have you thought of using the Virgin donation website instead of Just Giving? If I recall correctly, JG takes a percentage as an admin fee whereas Virgin doesn't.

JG tend to take any fees out of the Gift Aid on a donation which is fine so long as the Gift Aid does't get cut any lower than it is at the moment

While VMG is a good system, we've found our supporters prefer JustGiving.

Then again if they want to use either or even another provider we don't mind if they're supporting KidsCan!

Hi Everyone,

Just to let you know the public ballot for the Great North Run has now closed.
If you haven’t put in for a place in the run you can now only get one via a charity.

If you haven’t got a place yet, all is not lost!

As you might have read, we ask that our individual runners raise a minimum of £175 in sponsorship. However we’re looking for teams to take part! As an added bonus for signing up in a team, we are happy to offer a reduced sponsorship target!
For example, we would request a team of 4 to raise a combined total of £900 – the equivalent of just £150 per person!
