an absolutely fascinating story, the greatest against (what was considered at the time) his fiercest opponent yet

(joe frazier was his true nemesis, don't let anyone tell you otherwise)

fantastic african setting, an amazing soundtrack from the concert that helped set the scene with james brown and BB King, the drama of the big hold up with george's cut and the prolonging of the whole thing

the hideously psychotic president of zaire mbutu and the rise of don king,

everyone knows about rope a dope but watch out for how Ali actually starts the fight, a straight right hand BANG!! right into big george's face which no one was expecting

rumble in the jungle man, possibly the greatest story ever told

Joe Frazier was an awesome fighter Pat, I agree that he was a real threat to Ali.... Now I don't claim enough knowledge to fill the back of a postage stamp on that era of boxing (which incidentally, I consider the best era ever)....but surely Ken znorton was Ali's true nemesis. Forgive me if I wrong on this.

As someone else mentioned, When We Were Kings is fantastic, a brilliant documentary.

Rope-a-dope tactics, Ali had balls to do that.

So......was norton his real nemesis ? Yes or no pat.... No skirting....no pressure.... Sock it to me !!
well if that's what you like to think mate then you are of course welcome to your opinion

but if indeed that is your opinion, then you're probably correct .....

(...about you needing a bit of schooling on it)
