is it possible to set the board so that new members have to type a 'hello im new' post in the "new members introduce yourself" area please?

a sticky about some of the finer points of forum decorum would be nice too.

as i see it, theres a lot of going round in circles with people getting upset and there being ill feelings/arguements spilling into many areas of the board.

I think there should be a place like a sin bin where people like Suits can go and think about what he has done. ;)

Or maybe even a Football style disciplinary. Where if you have been naughty a yellow card appears on your area, and if you get a second in the same day your off and you've got a weeks ban. 5 yellows and your off for a ban.

Be fun.

i know you can get warnings, but the problem with this is... unless it is treated 100% fairly it tends to go wrong and people abuse it !!

it is possible that new people can only see a newbees forum and perhaps make it so that only after 5 posts of something then can visit the rest of the forum..

and they have to introduce themselves etc...

as for rules etc.. who really to be honest reads them on the forum... i know this forum has rules about being over 13 or something, but i have never read them lol

Whats the point, they want to talk about Everton, not make 5 posts introducing themselves before they can talk about there beloved club.

I agree with you on this.

But to get new members to spot/use the introduction thread.. why not move it our of the Ale House and place it directly under the Forum title? Or is it possible to make some parts of the forum available after you've posted in that thread? Similar to the Everton Media that only opens after you've posted 50 posts?

Most new members are here to talk about Everton, and might therefore miss the threads in Ale House and so on, at least at first.

Expanding on the yellow card thing..........have it user moderated. We can use the user reputation thing that is already installed and enabled to do that.

There could be a introduction section for new people, would be a warmer welcome etc:)
