I was there as a cas fan, stood behind the sticks with my mate a Saints fan when Cunningham went over. Unbelievable atmosphere and fitting way to end it there, even though I thought we were gonna ruin the party!Today marks 10 years since the last match at Knowsley Road. I thought that this thread would be full of Saints fans today. Talk about a close finish to an excellent Grand Final last night and well done to both sides for a gripping game.

Could've gone either way. Two sides refusing to give an inch. Saints had most of the possession and territory but we barely looked like scoring all night except for Taia's a touch dubiously chalked off try. I think Wigan boobed though in going to the two points when they got that late penalty rather than kicking into touch and setting up for the drop goal.
Ok, I suppose they could've knocked on had they done that but Hardaker is hardly Frano Botica with the boot and didn't even manage to put it dead, when that happened, only we could then win it in normal time.
Unbelievable finish and the ball certainly bounced in Saints favour but for me Bevan French went to sleep as Makinson's drop goal went towards the posts. Perhaps he thought it was in, I don't know, but he really should've been favourite to have got to the loose ball considering the start he had on Welsby.
A try after the final hooter to win a Grand Final for me now eclipses the famous 'wide to West' try in the history of our club by a fair distance.

The inevitable has happened and George Burgess has been released. Seems like the end for the lad at just 28. Such a shame.
