Strange way to kick of the season with a Thursday night derby but a good win for Saints last night who look physically a big stronger than last year whereas Wigan looked a bit disjointed showing the loss of personnel and a new coach . Holbrook’s big decision of not picking Richardson also seemed to have paid off .

In other news Ben Barba sacked by Queensland without playing a game and looking like his career could be over .

Yeah, sorry I get that but wasn’t sure if you meant cowboys or Origin so now I understand you follow the maroons . It’s my ambition to do a state of Origin game , it’s one of the few sporting things still on my list .

It was grim mate. I missed alkmaar .the worst I remember was boro in 96 on Boxing Day when that corner of the stand was not filled in by the away end . I always remember that game for a young sub coming on then getting taken off for having a stinker . We got beat 4-2.
