Ruddy

Ruddy. One appearance, nine loan-outs in five years. Hardly the development of a future England star.

I say try David James again.

It was a similar situation at City with Hart and Given. If Moyes was in charge, Given would have played every week and Hart would have never gotten a game.

David James certainly isn't the future. If we had no other option, you'd take him for his experience, but it would be a wasted opportunity to bring the next generation through.

Trevor Sinclair is a one bad tart mate, that's a mentality thing, not an experience thing.

I think we're going to have to agree to disagree. Personally, I'd rather call up a goalkeeper who has played against the likes of Torres, Suarez and Aguero and knows what to expect from them than one who is more accustomed to facing Championship strikers.

I just thought I'd use this thread as an opportunity to say that his last minute save against the ****e was very very good.

All I'm seeing here is Moyes ****ed up because he let an English keeper go that was worse than an American and Slovakian goalkeeper.
Being English doesn't make you better, if the last 50 years are anything to go by.

Indeed, but Ruddy is actually a pretty good keeper. Not saying that because he's English or he gets starts for Norwich, I'm saying it because it's probably true. Still young (for a GK), too, so there's time for him to prove it. Hate the fact we let him go for nothing, but at least he's getting gametime now, and that's more important than being 3rd keeper at Everton and to never even get a chance to prove yourself.
