Rooney's performance

Thats it tho Sharpy mate, if he had acted the way he did today, minus the badge kissing and everything else hes done since leaving, a huge part of the fanbase would have forgiven him years ago.

But considering some of the things hes done and said, hes never gonna win some people over. Im well over hating him I used to wish all sorts of nasty things on him, now I just think he was given some bad advice and said and done some stupid things, young lads do that.

Maybe it finally struck with him what being an Evertonian means. Sorry Wayne, but no amount of money in the world can make up for that. Was glad to see that everyone seems to have moved on from this saga. Rooney and the fans that is.

Even Moyes said Rooney came on the scene too quick for us that we didnt know how to handle it.

The club can deal with another Rooney-esque academy player better now we're in a stronger position.

But, this game aside, he's arguably gonna be short listed for PFA World Player of the year.

Pompey does have decent fans I'm hoping someone (FA?) will bail them out and send them to the championship with a major deduction instead of just letting the club go to waste.

FA cup to non-existance in less than 2 years. Its kind of scary for a club like ours.

It was very much the same with Gary Lineker, apart from him not having come through the academy. Both players were destined to be world class (on the back of an international tournament) and needed to be performing on the biggest stage.

We couldn't afford to turn the money down and, even if we did, we would have denied the players the opportunity to fulfil their potential. That's football.

Everybody got what they wanted in the end, even if Kenwright did put on a bit of a show of wanting to keep him. Selling Rooney eased our financial plight and gave Moyes a small pot of money to start building the current side.

Weird you should post that, I was thinking something similar but thought it was me being plain silly reading into something that's not there.

It defo is that like, he just had an off game.

same i was actually thinking it myself
looked like he was playing for us only thing i did
notice was the free kick + all the fans where singing
fat little bástard (8) then... he seemed to run and smash it
but apart from that, he was playing in blue (y)(n)

He had a very subdued match against us today. In addition, I didn't see all the fiery emotion that he usually displays against us.

He just couldn't get going today but no doubt about it, if voted today, he would be the Premier League player of the year.

Today wasn't about Rooney, it was about Everton, pure and simple.

he did look off color, or at least from what I have heard.

but we don't give a rat's ass do we, only one team on Merseyside today.

It's the summer I'm more concerned about regarding this individual.

hes the only one giving us a shout at a good world cup run,if he fails, then well go out with our heads held down......no Gerrard fück will rescue us when he playes bad,,

lets just hope he doesnt burnoff/down come end of season
