Good evening gents, I have a question about a roof repair quote and just wanna check it's fair.

Quote I've got is to reboard and recover dorma with a EPDM rubber roof and new facia and guttering to dorma.

It's for a 3 floor terrace and they've quoted £580

Is it a flat roof?
If so make they sure they stick it layer it with hot tar bichemene or it will leak again if they use roofing adeshive as that stuff don't last long it needs to be heated up in a hot barrel tub applied as the sticking sealing agent that's the only water proofed on a flat roof that is sustainable trust me had one done takes four hours if they know what they are doing it has to be dry weather wise too for the hot tar glue to dry and cement its way in

Yeah it's for the dorma window roof and no idea what they'll be using, putting it up for sale but have to get roof and top bedroom ceiling done before I go.

Get them to use tar heated up as a surveyor will be all over the job - honestly even the most expensive glue fails!

Sounds alright to me that.

Problem with roofers, is that it's hard to check what they've done, as most don't go in the roof to check what they've done.

A decent roofer will take before and after pics and talk you through what they've done and why.

I hate getting roof work done. You dunno what they're doing up there or even if they're doing anything at all.
Recommendations from friends is your only hope.

Paid more than that for spot repairs to my roof - various slates and some fibre glass sealant for a leak. Admittedly he prob saw me coming, as mine is high up with no access, but £580 for a new roof sounds really cheap. If he's recommended then maybe OK.
