Ronnie O'Sullivan

Ronnie just got a warning for "making a gesture with his cue !"
His head seems to have gone for a moment !

After missing a ball in the penultimate frame he ran his hand up the shaft of his cue between his legs and Tabb stepped in to issue a reprimand, saying: "Don't make obscene gestures again, OK?"

O'Sullivan merely said he was wiping something off his cue before joking: "I want to go home." But it seemed to unsettle him and Trump went on to win the frame.

Been some good quality stuff without really catching fire so far.
Glad that Hawkins is doing himself justice out there, as nobody likes too see a one-sided final.

O'Sullivan's game has matured considerably in the last few years. He always had a good safety game but it's been immense this tournament. He's largely been unbeatable in safety exchanges, as if his shot-making and breakbuilding weren't already enough.

What talent. To take a year out and then come back and defend his title - and make it look so easy - is unbelieveable. Snooker may not be a physical sport, but you still need the match sharpness. I can't even think of another "sport" where someone's done what Ronnie just has.

I think he is a better player now at 37 than he was 10 years ago, where other great champions have lost their edge by the same age.
He was always a genius who could pot anything, but now he is a much more patient player, and during this tournament we've seen him really dig deep and fight, for every opening, using his safety game as much as needed. The wreckless abandon is no longer there.
He is still at the peak of his powers.

Absolutely class player. Just a shame he couldn't keep his head together as he'd have broken every record in the sport.

The way he switches to left handed is extraordinary. He is so good left-handed most people think could probably win tournaments (or come close) playing predominantly southpaw. It would be interesting to see him play a tournament predominantly left-handed, if that wouldn't be an insult to other players.

Genius is a fitting description of his talent in this case.
