Love them both, maybe The Stones a little more. Carlos Santana is better than both though.

That was brilliant.

Led Zep for me any way, although I've never really given The Stones at massive amount of attention.

When The Levee Breaks is also one of my very favourite songs of all time.

the stones are the most over rated band ever in my opinion. I'm a guitarist and I don't get the whole Keith Richards thing, his solos are crap, he's got no groove and he's got nothing on page. jagger is ****e, all this moves like jagger **** is annoying, the man has got no rythym it's embarrassing watching him. musically zep win hands down, but Ive never fully understand the fuss with them aswell. I love them as indivudual musicians but when they come together that's were I miss the boat. going back to the stones it pisses me off that people think Aerosmith are a rip off. Aerosmith piss all over the stones, yes granted they made a few ballads late 80's and 90's and some big commercial hits, but no band had their sound in the 70's. Tyler v jagger is no contest. Steve can move, Steve can write entire albums himself if he wanted and more important Steve can sing. don't even get me started on Perry v Richards, another no contest.

They are a major influence on bands who go for 'style over substance' - Aerosmith, GNR, druggie bad hair bands etc.

At least Zep never went Disco or felt that they had to change to be 'down with the young people'.

Or made a truly bad album.
