In that weird nations cup thing.

2-0 to the ROI at this point. Get in.

Coleman's playing if anyone's interested.

3-0. Own goal after Seamus Coleman shoots and the keeper parries it against his own player, into the net.

GET IN.

Finished 5-0. Yes, a Trapp team won a game by *gasp* scoring a lot of goals.

Now it will basically be between Scotland and the ROI in the next game to decide who wins this weird cup thing. Come on Ireland.

I certainly think so, but the FA didn't want to risk alienating FIFA with the world cup bid going on, so played denmark and ghana and other nations with FIFA votes instead.

I really do hate the FA.
Doesn't help that the FA thinks England are too good to be playing the rest of the Home Nations... At the very least it'd be a competition England might actually manage to win.

When did this all go on then? As in when did they decide to opt out, don't remember that

I'd love to see something like this including England

And well in Coleman for last night.

I can't think of a footballing body I don't hate!

Coleman also put in a sumptuous, pinpoint cross from the left that Ireland should have profited from. It was good to see him deliver a ball aerially!

We were in talks with them from like 2006 to 2008, but were never that keen.

Eventually the other 4 decided to go alone and do a tournament in 2009 but Ireland asked for it to be pushed back two years so they could concentrate on the World Cup qualifiers. We had another chance to join then but didn't take that either, the excuses were concerns over scheduling and stadiums, if I recall.

Shambles, anyway.
