I have never heard of this fella, why have they cited his twitter? Not much use now is it.

Rip

His weekly reviews column in the Chicago Sun-Times was great. When he really hated a film, nobody could destroy one like him. His negative reviews are the stuff of legend. Collections of them were released in book form. The first one was called "I hated, hated, hated, hated this movie", which is a direct quote from his review of "North".

HA!

My mate lent me "Your Movie Sucks", which is also great. He didn't enjoy Spice World the Movie at all

His review of Kurosawa's masterpiece Ikiru is brilliant, and a bit poignant given how he died:

I saw "Ikiru'' first in 1960 or 1961. I went to the movie because it was playing in a campus film series and only cost a quarter. I sat enveloped in the story of Watanabe for 2 1/2 hours, and wrote about it in a class where the essay topic was Plato's statement, "the unexamined life is not worth living.''

Over the years I have seen "Ikiru'' every five years or so, and each time it has moved me, and made me think. And the older I get, the less Watanabe seems like a pathetic old man, and the more he seems like every one of us.

Brah (my apologies for the Americanized inflection) this behemoth of the critic-sphere literally helped me to pass my A levels. He never had an agenda unlike many other so-called 'experts' and gave credit where it was due. For that reason I give him my heartfelt thanks. RIP Mr Roger Ebert.

[Poor language removed] him really. He was out of order when Ryan Dunn from Jackass died. Having a go at him when he'd just died, total prick.
