If anything positive has come out of the current situation the club find themselves in-then surely this lad deserves all the plaudits for his maturity and presence in the games so far. Yes, he hasn't been given much of a choice as to whether he played or not, but even though us fans aren't singing the joys, he must be feeling on top of the world and mighty proud for one so young. The way he rose for the 'disallowed goal' I felt was a mixture of the strength of Yobo and the accuracy of Lescott.

We talk about many young players needing to go out on loan to a Championship club or lower for a bit. Even though he hasn't yet got the experience of the position or to cope with a full season of games in the Premier League, he is probably already too good for the majority of Championship sides on a permanent basis. It would more likely be an insult to the speed of his progress with us if we did loan him out should we be in a position to over the next 12 months. I might be wrong though, so one to ponder:-

Would he be better getting 20 odd games under his belt with us, or if and when we have something resembling a decent squad is he better getting 1st team games elsewhere for a short time? (y)

Yes Baxter- doesn't mind getting stuck in either!!! Just trying to get as many positives in as possible- as trying not to let that sinking feeling overrun me- the kind you get when playing United or Arsenal away-knowing that somethings going to happen to ruin the afternoon- or the kind I got every week when going the games in the early 90's and getting stuffed 5-2 by QPR springs to mind.
