when rodders got sold i was scratching my head wondering why city have bought him...... I sat there thinking like many he would warm the bench at city...well he starts today.

Im just hoping we didnt get rid to early...only time will tell, however would we have signed Mirallas without rodwell money? i dont think so....

I wish the lad well to be honest. For us the money was worth far more than the player. At this moment in time, we had a surplus of defensive midfielders, but a deficit in offensive options.

Would you rather have had Rodwell on the bench this season than Mirallas and probably another striker on board.

Good luck to him. I think Mancini has to give the fans something new on the opening day and they should win at a canter anyway, but he won't start more than 10 games this season. It's just because it's a new signing.

I hope he comes good as he's a local lad but after seeing him regularly I don't think he'll ever nail down a regular spot over there, hope I'm wrong.

rodwells not a defensive midfielder though is he, attacking wise he has more to offer then fellaini does

I am not sure if I want Rodwell to do well or not... I wish Rodwell a bright future, but I cant stand city.. So i guess I want Rodwell to do bad for them, and hoping Rodwell moves to another club soon and do well.

Good look to the lad but thought he'd be lucky to get on the bench never mind start. Mancini must have faith cause there's at least two better mf players sittin on the bench

I don´t think so. Apart from that one time against United and a couple of cracking shots, I mostly saw him passing it sideways.

The lads a cracking player.

Moyes got an offer, a pretty crap offer really and he thought he could spend the money and improve the squad.

Hes spent some of it, so lets see who else we get.

But again, for the record, Jack Rodwell is a talented boy.

It was a good deal for all involved in my opinion, we have a lot of cover in centre mid but little to none on the wings/up front so it made sense to sell our most saleable centre mid. We got a decent price for him and it will let him kick on in his career plus it allowed us to clear some more debt and balance the side up by getting Mirallas in who can play in pretty much every forward position. I think we were right to possibly have sold him a bit early too since Rodwell's injuries may still hinder his development which might have lowered his stock too much for us to get a decent fee for him.

I think after today, any Rodwell threads shouldn't be in this Everton forum as he's not our player any more.

I wish him well - mainly because I want Everton to make as much money as possible and get all the add-on money from City - but not when we play Citeh.

no i agree.... but i just get that feeling he was about to come to life..but saying that i thought that last year too. I think it was for the best...

Hopefully this move will give him more impetus to play a positive game because I think our style of play was holding him back as he's better when he asserts himself on the pitch. I think he'd have been a better fit at Arsenal but he'll do well at City if given some license...
