Boss Lid

Player Valuation: £500k
Could be an idea, we won`t get any decent money for him at the moment, put him into the championship see if it wakes him up to the fact he`s not as good as he he thinks he is. Gone off the boil since he signed the 5 year deal last summer.

Our squad isn't big enough mate. Instead, he'll continue to languish on periphery and frustrate me as to why I can't see what the whole world keep telling me.

Unfortunately our squad isn't big enough. Really don't see the big fuss about him. I hope he'll prove me wrong but at the moment, players like him, Heitinga, Bily continue to frustrate me and I can't see it changing.

sorry but a ridiculous idea, he's played every level of international football up to now and shone. A mixture of injuries and inconsistent form havent helped him but if he can put it together he should be getting regularly in the first eleven and starting to boss games.

As GOT says, if the squad was big enough I would want him to go out on loan. I think Moyes needs to get some pointers from Wenger, look at Wilshere, goes out on loan comes back straight into the Arsenal first team and now he is class. Ramsey as well.

I haven't seen Rodwell show any super class in midfield, but then again he is meant to be on the verge of becoming a superb defender, but he doesn't get played there.

Yeah but the point is we haven't got the depth to send players on loan.

You just dont know what he's being asked to do by the manager, this is the problem. He had the midfield sitting pretty deep tonight. I suspect Rodwell was told to keep it conservative and allow Barkley the room to get forward.

Not making too much of an excuse for him, though. We need to see a bit more dynamism than we've seen in recent times.

I suspect Rodwell isn't fit.

Either that or his mental match fitness is well off. He was well sloppy tonight.

But then again, he was at the England U21 tournament wasn't he? Explains things.

If we had some squad depth I'd love us to loan him out to a premier league team. It did wonders for Jack Wilshere, and Rodwell needs to be playing every game. I don't think he will here and it's harming his progress/value (depending on your outlook).

But we don't really have the depth. If we got Barton in though I think we'd be able to do so.

Is he that bad though? Don't think he's going around saying he's the best midfielder in England, like Barton. I think we've missed our chance to loan him out, we should have done that at least 2 seasons ago, I think.

He certainly needs to "man up" to use a crap expression, but there's a still a big player there in Rodwell, I have no doubt in that

"Too much Birkdale, not enough Kirkdale..."

Excuse after excuse when it comes to Rodwell.

He's clearly low on confidence though. You could see it as clear as day. Barkley was doing stuff Rodwell was doing when he burst on the scene. Then you look at Rodwell in the same game...and that excitement from him has gone, not his ability.

And Im sure playing central midfield, defensive midfield, attacking midfield and right wing is gonna do you a world of good on the back of the boo boys who want shut of you.
