There I was pounding away on the treadmill and watching MSNBC politics show when up pops robert Earl and the earl of sandwich. they did a 10 minute or so interview promoting a new chain of Deli style shops called "the Earl of sandwich' which just came to the US and which they co-own.
However the majority of the interview was spent talking about Everton. Earl was introduced as the owner of Everton football club and he brought a shirt for the presenters whisch they held up and said was 'a beautiful shirt'. He also invited them over for the match against the ****e and promised them box seats. the main host Joe Scarborough is a re****e and asked if he would be safe walking to his seat if he wore red - to which Earl replied "absolutely not".
He was also asked "can you make any money owning a soccer team in England" and replied - No to that one too!
couldnt believe it - but fantastic to see the shirt, pictures of the players etc - what a great suprise start to the day!!

So he denies owning our club and he has always said he is just a board member/advisor yet now he is in the US telling people he owns the club. If thats the case he needs to stop wasting money on feckin sandwich shops and concentrate on the club what a muppet!!

His sandwich shop idea will go bust anyway considering a flooded US market and the fact Subway is no1 in fast food chains now

I think I was more flabbergasted at the fact that someone held up a Royal Blue shirt on National TV in the USA - thats got to be worth some marketing points. I would also think it likely that if the host do come over for the derby then they will probably give us a second round of free advertising. that said you still cannot buy said shirt here in the USA so does it matter??

Good find mate.

This is why I don't think we will see another takeover quite like what has happened at Man City for a long long time.

Football clubs very rarely make money. It's always been about the Prestige of being involved with a football club.

Why would any businessman or woman invest in a football club unless they were a die hard supporter, as they simply are high investment, very high risk and low return.

Anyone who embraces those characteristics is likely to not be good for the club.

If indeed Kenwright, Earle, Woods etc are looking to sell the club, this is probably why no one is interested other than hair brained inventors, and frauds...

Good stuff! Still got the usual moaners here though :/

Who's moaning? How can a man claim that he is not in charge and then self promote himself a couple of years later to sell his poxy sandwich shops idea to the US and say he is in charge.

The fact he says there no money to be made in football clubs sjust show what a pointless rich member of the board we have. He would rather pump his cash into a certain failure than Everton. Well if theres no money to be made why doesn't he sell his shares and do one? Or maybe he does own the club and its a little more complicated.

With statements like this im astonished our capable board hasn't sold the club yet. He didn't add that you can make money out of re-financing their debts?
