It sounds to me as though a general pre-season match was possibly over sold to the spectators .
Those prices look a little on the high side too .

Starting to get bright and i gotta sleep. Never gonna happen :( Im off to lie awake for 8hrs or so.....Bye all (y)
So imagine how I felt; Four hour flight from Toronto to Edmonton, Avis rent-a-car at the airport, check in at the Courtyard Marriott, lunch in the Sherlock Holmes pub, LRT to Commonwealth Stadium just to watch a friendly.:)

My return home on Sunday was a bit of a convoluted affair. Bumped off the Toronto flight I was routed via Ottawa, where, upon my arrival was informed that the next two flights to Toronto were over sold I would be placed on the wait list and finally arrived in Toronto and 2230 hours local time.

Must say though, it was great to be among Evertonians, some who had travelled all the way from Liverpool and one each from Hong Kong, Suva, Recife and Invercargill, New Zealand.(y)

Not fielding any of our "star" players?

Of the available (not injured) players, the only "starters" who didn't start were Howard & Neville. Not sure what the letter writer's on about.

But I do think the club could have made more of an effort to acknowledge the several thousand Blues in the crowd, many of us having travelled some distance just to be there. My kids were desperatelyhoping to have some interaction with the players - even just a wave or 2 would have been nice.
