Rival players you begrudgingly respected.

*Puts on tin hat

Ian St John...we hated him because, deep down, we knew he was very very good at what he did.

goes further out on the limb without a safety net.

If he played for us he would be mentioned in the same manner as Ball and Young

grudging respect? the fella was a genius, a flawed genius, but a bona fide one off 'kin genius.

I have read a couple of his books, I even met him. He recognised the flaws he had but he felt they were part of what made him special. If he hadn't been given the bad bits maybe he wouldn't have been given the good bits.

Keane, Roy not Robbie.

Terry, utterly despise him but with him at the back in his prime, you can't go wrong. In another life he'd have been Tony Adams. Sadly he is a crunt captain of a crunt team with crunt fans and a grade A king crunt for a manager.

Xavi

Rooney, don't think he's past it, I'd him in our team tomorrow. A front three of him,Sanchez and Walcott would destroy defences. Pace power and guile, Christ what more could you ask for in a forward line.

Sami Hyypia, didn't particularly like the guy but was a brilliant defender.

Think this should be renamed, kopites who you hate but respect

Recently, Suarez. Couldn't stand him but what a player. A Gerrard slip away from carrying them to the title on his own.

From the past, Mark Hughes. Not the most likeable but never had a bad game for Man U and scored a lot of important goals.

sterling ... he's a tit, but they way he belittled that club after just two seasons was great. he didn't move for the money and the bitter RS tried to word it that way because they couldn't accept that city are a better prospect than them now. It was carbon copy of torres all over again. whilst we stood and showed a selling club how to act.

I met George a few times when I frequented his bar in California.

Came across as a right nice fellow.

He had his demons and he was his own worst enemy as we all know.

Think how much Bestie would fetch in today's transfer market.
