I used to work for British Gas years ago in one of their call centres. They were all pretty much rotten to the core back then, and BG were amongst the worse. Blatant lies to get people to swap, and half the time they'd swap you over without your consent

Utility companies are well dodgy and once one of them puts their prices up, they all follow suit

They should be renationalised. Leaving essential stuff like utilities and transport to a shower of ****ing spivs is the fastest way to mayhem. Low life swimming in profits while pensioners freeze to death.

British Gas and the rest are merely businesses who's main aim is to make profit for it's shareholders.... same as any other business. It's up to government and company watchdogs to put a cap on stuff like this happening every winter . Regular as clockwork, October comes around utility prices go up.

It's not all bad mate. They've been forced to provide insulation free of charge to all their customers. Offer ends soon though so, if you own your own home then get the bloody call made asap.

Agree with you more on transport though. Too much tax payers money is shovelled into private companies for the benefit of shareholders. Totally crazy.

They're inefficient and no one knows where they are with them, casting around for a 'better deal' that's obsolete 6 months later. In any civilized society they'd be expropriated and taken back under the State. Even if that was done and prices remained at the obscene level they are now, at least the revenue would be going to HM Government and redistributed in other forms of spending.

Utilities, transport, and local government - that's at least three areas of life for a kick off the leeches should be kept well out of sucking the blood from.
