Sad news. That fight with hearns is definitely the best I've ever seen. Hearns was graceful.lightening quick and hard hitting but was worn down by the relentless hagler.

Great time for boxing for the middle weights, best ever I reckon, then a certain Mike Tyson popped up for the heavies.

Am I right in saying he beat Alan Minter then had to flee the ring sharpish as chairs and bottles were thrown in the ring.

Yes. I was a young lad but remember it well. Minter was the world champion at the time and hagler beat him badly.blood everywhere. When the ref stopped it a barrage of cans and bottles went flying in to the ring

Boxing was ace in the 80s, when it was on normal TV too, that fight was wild, RIP

Yeah disgraceful scenes, Minter had previously wound everybody up with saying something along the lines of no black man will put me down, the rest was history as they say. Best man won Minter was a very good middleweight, but nowhere in the class of Hagler and Hagler made him eat his own words. Remember at the time being very ashamed of British fans causing those scenes, when you should be showing respect and admiration for what was a great fight and an overall master class for Marvin Hagler R.I.P.
