RIP Jack Bruce

Didn't even know he was ill. He had liver cancer years ago and a resulting transplant, but I thought he'd go on for ever.

Seen him a few times over the last 15 years or so, think the last time would have been up in Kendal at the Brewery Arts. Tiny place, but a brilliant musician and was always pushing the boundaries. If you ever went to a Jack Bruce gig you knew he wouldn't just be churning out old stuff just for the sake of it.

RIP

Cream reformed for concerts at the Albert Hall in 2005 and folk didn't think they'd be so good but of course they were sensational, having grown as musicians since the original famous 1968 concert.

Jack had to sit down for much of the gig though as he had recently had a liver transplant!

I am very sorry at his death. His albums Songs for a Tailor and Harmony Row bear listening to over and over.

Probably the greatest group ever to play together. Jack Bruce was probably the best bass guitarist on the planet. Not like these plastic groups, this man was a true, absolute legend, gutted.

"Sunshine of your love"

He started out with John Mayall and the Bluesbreakers back in the mid 60's ...quite an outfit that was, seeing Eric Clapton, Peter Green, Mick Fleetwood, John McVie and MIck Taylor pass through its playing roster.

RIP Jack

Sad.
*goes to cupboard under stairs to dig out vinyll LP's

Crossroads...If I could play that's what i'd play.

Love him and Ginger on that track seems like they're 'racing / 'dueling' with each other.

Right, been on youtube seen the 1968 Crossroads, then the 2005 Crossroads. How effortless it all seemed back then.
Even at the slower pace, still miles better than most could knock out
