My favourite striker, when I was a very young boy!

He was my father's favorite striker as well. His appreciation for him was handed down to me.

9am here I'll give him sometime before I break the bad news. He's not one to spend much time on the internet so I doubt he'll know until someone calls him.

Also just remembered this from last year. I'm glad Lewandowski gave him his roses and showed his appreciation for him before his passing.

A good bit after my time though my dad always talked about him. Looked at his stats and eff me, the guy must have had a serious eye for goal, a great turn of pace and could spot a pass from space

My Dad loved him. I'm too young to remember him but what a striker. One of those in the Batistuta mould.

What a legend, greatest striker ever for me, had the longevity that R9 didn't.

563 goals for Bayern in 605 games, 68 in 62 for West Germany, winning goal in a WC final, won 3 European cups in a row, held the record for most goals in the World Cup for 4 decades.
