Possibly the worst idea ever, and no surprise it came from Australia, who's national sport requires you to just leather the ball as hard as you can.

So much of football's wonderful array of passing comes from deft, delicate spins and curls facilitated from the top and front of the boot. Imagine Rom trying his recent cross with these spazzer shoes on. It'd have ended up on the roof of the Gwladys.

I honestly think that this is one of the worst ideas, ever to grace football boot manufacture. If you go to put spin on this with the outside of your foot, you have no idea whats going to happen with the slightest misjudgement. Bloody Aussies. Stick to your own sports.

Also, Tim Cahill being involved in the early stages of development? That tells us nothing other than he never saw enough value in it to see it through any more of its 21 iterations.

Why do people feel the need to "radicalise the way football is played"? Just do one, start up your own sport, like they did with Rugby League/Union, have your own rules where you can only toey the ball forwards, and its a foul if you head a ball that's come off a toes cause it moves too fast and might make your brain fall out of your ear. Make the goals bigger, by twice the size and have two goalies, cause its unfair otherwise as the ball "moves like a rocket".

Takes your boots and shove them sideways, or front ways, cause they're as wide as they are long, right up your pipe.

To be fair most of Lukaku's passes end up in the wrong place with regualr boots.

I agree about the deft touches and I would be interested to see what the feedback from trialists whether it is an issue.
In terms of its Aussie origins, you might want to check on the origin of the last major boot development :-
