I was too young in 1970 to remember much about it now, but based on what we have seen so far the football in this WC and particularly the second half of Germany/Ghana we are witnessing a football treat.

What is it about Central and South America? 1970, 1978, 1986 and 2014, all great tournaments!

My over riding memory of 94 was a match, can't even remember who, where they broke the goal and took bloody ages to replace it.

Oh and Yordan Letchkov's diving header.

After 2010, this had to be better, but at present it's surpassing my expectations, fantastic World cup.

The first one I really took interest in was 1978. Staying up late to watch matches ( school night ). Dad making loads of Danish pastries , just got a new cookbook . And plenty of goals flying in from 35 yds . Trying to replicate the goals in school next day

You mean when Diana Ross missed her pen and the goal snapped in half?

There was a belter of a goal from Hagi too I think.
