Player Valuation: £1.5m
I was just watching the build up to the FA cup games today, and all of the premership managers have left out most of their first team players, surely Martinez cant afford to do that, not that the younger players could do any worse at the moment, but im sure the fans going on Tues including me would not be happy.

Hate to break the news - http://toffeeweb.com/season/14-15/news/29051.html : "“It is a good time, not to experiment because it is not a word that I like, but to open competition for the players and do it in a different tournament."

Martinez wants to show that he's a manager who sticks to his principles, but he does have to get the results as well, and if we lose to the Hammers and to City his position is going to be extremely precarious.

He did also that change brings in doubt, right before he decided to play 3 at the back with barry being of those 3

We already have enough players out injured that we can't afford to rest anyone...

Last season big Sam would have played a weakened team in the FA cup with premier league survival the priority....he doesn't need to worry about that this year so I would expect a strong west ham team...

This game is massive for our season....we absolutely have to win it...play as strong a team as is possible, and for God sakes play players in the right positions!..

Mixed feelings about this.

Right now, I couldn't give two hoots about reaching the FA Cup final. In the long term it could rebuild confidence, but PL has to be paramount.

So with an upcoming game against City it could be a useful opportunity to rest weary or disillusioned legs, giving time to rebuild strength.

Nevertheless, as @N.S.N.O. mentioned, I doubt Big Sam will be resting too many players. With extra days over other teams, he'll want to win this.

Another defeat, or worse another embarrassing performance, and Martinez's head may be in the stocks. It could also lower confidence even more.

I would much prefer City coming here after a win, rather than a fifth straight defeat. A victory will boost the squad more than a match off.

Therefore, I think the core of the starting XI needs to be playing if they're fit and able to do so. They need to dig in deep and try and win a game.

Let's not risk players needlessly, for example McCarthy if he isn't ready, but let's give the lads an opportunity to turn this round.

Another defeat will put Robert and the club in a difficult position regardless who is playing!

The only person I would drop is Barry who right now needs to stop and rebuild some form, as currently he doesn't deserve to be starting.

Yes but Dover/West Ham
Aye, there not a fair comparison. It was more to the point about not prioritising the Cup, yet still progressing. Sheff Wed / Dover are different.

I am not particularly interested about progressing at the moment, but I am interested in how winning (progressing) could have on us.

As long as Barry is dropped. Then everyone else can play.

Only Baines is the one for me that might need a rest other than that.

Having a good go at the FA could be dangerous if we do well and it catches up with Europa, too many distractions for where we're at.
Premier survival is paramount.
We are in too dodgy a place at the moment to risk players with knocks or coming back from injury, let others have a go, can't really get worse, out the cup, so what, we need to get the leaguesorted first

Difficult decision.

QPR losing right now. Bet they don't care. They just want to stay up.
This scoreline doesn't surprise me. REmember QPR at GP in the cup last season -- the most disinterested performance by a visiting side I've ever seen (run close by Lille).
