Hi I'm looking to come up to Liverpool in 2 weeks and looking for a nice restaurant to book for my daughter 21st birthday. Somewhere around town or the Albert Dock

Some boss Chinese restaurants around.

Can’t remember the name of a proper boss one on Lark Lane though, and out of stubbornness I’m not googling it until I remember it.

Expensive fine dining and both lovely:
The Art School (a bit far but ace)
Panoramic 34 (close)

Gusto is not a bad Italian in albert dock, San Carlo isn’t far away and that’s quite nice. Six by Nico is lovely as well, tasting menu that’s affordable
Panoramic is a nightmare to get into booking wise especially if it’s a weekend . The art school is a great recommendation and I really like six by nico , San Carlo is a bit up it’s own behind but still it’s not bad . It depends on whether you think the surroundings are worth the extra .

If you like seafood and Italian I think the Italian fish club is pretty good , cowshed does a good steak and wreckfish is what it says a decent bistro . For tapas I think salt house and baccaro are both pretty good .

Probably doesn't help at all (maybe someone?) but I took the family to Cucina De Vicenzo in Woolton a while back.

Proper family owned place which I love, superb Italian food.

San Carlo is nice food but the service was horrendous, been once and never again. It’s like a haven for young lads trying to impress a bird

Always wanted to go that fish club, but my bird isn’t a fish fan (unlike me)

Agree on San Carlo its a poser destination. Loads of similar quality Italians for a lot less around the city.

The Italian club who own the fish club have two restaurants on bold street. The meat one further down is great, very affordable too.

Cowshed I'd recommend for a good steak.

Yeah Great shout on the young lads situation , Manchester one always seemed better, service can definitely be a bit up and down. Friday afternoons a few years ago were always a bit interesting as the bar was a bit gangsters paradise .

I think we’re all on the same page about poseurs and I’m amazed how underrated the steak at cowshed is especially compared to some of the other places in town .
