I have been a reserve gaffa albeit at a much lower level.

Its not about results really but about bringing through players and playing them in the way they will need to for the first team.

Having said that, getting thrashed every week wouldnt look too good.

As the first team have drawn on the kids it means he is weaker so its a knock on effect. He has to go with what he's got and could come up against a strong side like Man Utd with players coming back through their team etc.

Im sure he will start to get results when the4 likes of Neville and Jags start playing in the ressies again.

As said, it's all about getting the players ready for the 1st team.

Back in the Walter Smith days the reserves were full of experienced players keeping their fitness levels up in case the 1st teamers got injured, now it's more of an extension of the youth team & a chance for players returning from injuries to get some match practice. You might get the odd player who's started a few games for us but the vast majority are youngsters hoping to work their way up. That's more to do with Moyes preferring a smaller squad than anyone else.
