If it wasn't for your ancestors **** treatment of my ancestors, I would not be a Yank today. For that, I thank England. The Irish dispora has been as successful as any other in history. Instead of being trapped in some mediocre country on some rocky outpost of Europe, the Irish spread to every corner of the globe and have reached, in huge numbers, the highest levels of society of every nation they have populated. I wonder if the victims of the potato genocide/famine ever though that 150 years hence, a nation largely benefited by the acquired wealth, brains, and work product of Irish descendants would be able to crush England like a small tin can if it ever found it in its interests to do so.

No mate we'd still **** ya's, take ya spuds again, and get your women sopping wet with our rigid English swords!

Everton have more grassroots links to Ireland like no other club in England. That 50's side had so many Irish players and well Theo Kelly's background was Irish. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think dan donavan was the first Irish player to captain an English side. Could be wrong but that's what I heard. He's buried here in cork. Scotty road was all Irish at one point. All evertonians are welcome to Ireland....if you know your history and all that :-) alot of evertonians in Liverpool with Irish blood !! Mark Ward is one of many..

George Mahon and James Clement Baxter were both Liverpool Irish - the two leading lights behind the move in 1892 to remove the club to Goodison Park (Baxter financially secured it; Mahon was the key agitator for it on the Everton Committee). Both of them became chairmen of the club.

Both of them in the hall of fame, along with Bill. Just not right that.

Dublin is a great City, but ridiculously expensive without good reason. I keep intending to find a week to drive round the likes of Waterford etc, but haven't got round to it yet, but it's defo on my bucket list. Love the people & most of us scousers have got a chunk of angry Paddy in us anyway.

There's a few Orangemen I know who'd give you a big argument about that.

It was kind of wrecked before he got here like......

Kenwright was a director long before he was a major shareholder/chairman.

He's synonymous with Everton's decline in status: it began with the Dr Marsh years, deteriorated some more under Johnson, and reached its nadir under Kenwrong. He was the common thread that ran through the whole period.

If you can afford to emigrate you can afford to eat in a modest restaurant. At the end of the day, you'll pay the price if you're fussy eater.
