I’m sure I’ve posted this before, but this is my grandfathers merchant vessel Waimarama on its way to malta in august 1942 as part of Operation Pedestal. It was carrying ammunition and aviation fuel. A German plane dropped a string on bombs on it. The photo is just after it was hit, my grandfather didn’t survive…..
