As the year of 2014 comes to a close, it's always nice to remember the former players that graced the Goodsion turf who this year passed away.
Kenneth Rea, Bobby Collinis and of course Sandy Brown. Our thoughts go out to their families also.

Thanks for bringing them into our thoughts. I only ever saw Sandy Brown play out of those players. However, my late big brother used to call Bobby Collins the pocket battleship and he was one of his heroes along with Roy Vernon from that era. Many the tale he told ...especially when hed had a few brown bitters God bless him. Oh for some of their grit, drive and passion in our team now. May they all rest in peace.

RIP

RIP to the above only saw Sandy Brown play ,to be honest I always thought I had seen Bobby Collins but he left in 1962 and my first match wasnt till 1963.My arl fella told me about him and couldnt understand why we sold him so early as even at the age of 31 had a lot more to give and went on to play a major part in Revies team that went on to become one of the top sides of its time.

When I was a nipper Sandy used to pick his kids up at the infants school I was at in Maghull,my old girl who knew nothing about the game always said he was a lovely fella.
