GK - Robles
LB - Garbutt
LCB -- Mori / Galloway
RCB -- Stones / Browning
RB -- Coleman / Holgate
DM -- McCarthy /Besic
CM -- Cleverley
AM --Barkley
LW --
CF -- Lukaku
RW -- Deulofeu

In the next couple of seasons we will see Martinez adding to this group (possibly also moving Barkley back) through the u21s and also top notch new signings..hopefully we see Henen,Ledson,Kenny and also Dowell get a few mins by season end.

Well, if we could add a top keeper into that group as well as a goalscoring left winger and a top class centre midfielder then we look ultra strong for a decade.

if we could hold onto them, I could see this being some thing like a reincarnation of the 80's.

It is worth noting that of the eight players mentioned above(including Robles and McCarthy), all were brought to the club by RM except Barkley and Stones.

RM has however had a huge influence in the progress of their careers.

Last night six players started who are twenty four or under. Five of that six are twenty two or under.
Robles is only twenty five which in goalkeeping terms is still a baby and of course Sweet Baby James (McCarthy) was injured who if fit would have made it seven under twenty four outfield players on the pitch in a cup quarter final. Remarkable.

We do have the basis of a very young team.

Good, that. It's the antithesis of Walter Smith's sides and it's showing. Sure we have to tolerate the odd mishap while they learn but my word, some of the attacking play is great.

That's why a trophy this season is so important, if these young lads taste success here the less chance they get their heads turned by agents and the vultures with ££££
