No game is more important than the other at the end of the day you get three points for a win
I dunno mate.
Personally i see the away games against the top 4 as bonus matches, the 'key' games are the ones we should be winning but don't. Reading and Stoke at home, stuff like that.
True, but we only get one more chance each to prevent Spurs/Arsenal getting 3 pts, so those are the big ones for me. 3 pts in those games is worth more than any other 3 pts between now and May.
Yeah. Obviously every games 3 points are important but if we can win against the teams competing with us for 3rd/4th not only do we get 3 points but they get nothing, and vice versa of course.
Say for instance we played Spurs on Sun and they win they'll be 6 points clear of us. But if we win we'll be level. And if we'd have beat Chelsea but lost to West Brom at home we'd only be 1 point behind them and 4th place.
As long as we can match them in results against other teams it the games against our direct rivals which will be important.
I don't see Spurs having any more hard games but who knows who will be where in the table come April 6th.But we don't.
There are more games against teams below us than teams above us so we need to win the games we should win, anything else is a bonus. Beating Spurs will be irrelevant if we lose to teams like Reading and Stoke.
But we don't.

Just looked back at Novembers table and we were a point behind them after 14 games, now we're 3 behind after 25 games. And its our victory over them which means we're still on 3 behind them, if we'd have lost to them but beat Reading we'd be 6 points behind them. Its games against your direct rivals that not onlt get you points, but deny them. If come the end of the season we match Spurs game for game (all wins bar 1 loss to Stoke each) but beat them 2-0 at WHL we'll finish 4th above them on gd, whereas if we match them but beat Stoke and lose to them they'll be 3 points above us.
Hope that makes snese but surely you know what i'm saying. Of course we still need to pick up as many points elsewhere as possible to actually make games against our rivals the proverbial 6 pointer but if we do we'd be better off beating Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool and losing to southampton, Reading, Stoke and QPR than vice versa cause while we'd still have the same points total our rivals around us in the tabe would have more points so finish above us if it comes down to results in those games between each other.
That second paragraph is basically just one sentence.
So we're in February and 4 points off top 4, in my view here is our key games we have to win...
Manchester United (A) FEB 10th
Arsenal (A) MAR 9th
Manchester City (H) MAR 16th
Spurs (A) APR 6th
Liverpool (A) MAY 4th
Chelsea (A) MAY 19th
The biggest key game is Arsenal away or Spurs away in my opinion.
Yeah, I think there are 13 key games remaining now, although if we can avoid defeat at Spurs and Arsenal we'll have a much better chance of fourth.
The home games against Reading, Stoke, QPR, Fulham and West Ham are 'must-wins', in the sense that they are the most likely points we can accrue. Realistically, I think we need a minumum of seven wins and at least draws at WHL, Emirates and Anfield to have any chance of fourth. Very tough few months.
