94/95 Four down to get the Premier League back to 20 teams. Palace finished fourth from bottom (of course they did) havig reached the semi finals of both the FA and League cups. Thereby finishing in the last four of every contest entered that season.
I drove from Bath to Newcastle on the last day. We were 3 down in 20 minutes.Lost 4-2 got relegated and drove back to Bath.grrr.

Worse yet, it was the result that kept Villa up just two years after finishing 2nd!

3 in a row from Div 1 to Div IV was character building for me ffs.

Bristol City if anyone is arsed.

I always think it is a bit sad when a club goes out of the league. Better than when they had a vote to see if the club bottom of Div IV should go down though. Someone like Wokingham or Workington stayed in the league for years yet were awful, year after year!

Sheffield United 2007. Watched all their matches that season when Everton weren't playing. Enjoyed every second of their never say die attitude under Neill Warnock. Shame they didn't make it in the end, especially seeing the Tevez/Mascherano saga at West Ham.

Jags has been excellent for us but 2006-07 was the best year of his career.

Ha! Villa were at Norwich. After the third Newcastle goal went in the bloke next to me asked "I wonder how Villa are getting on?"
LIKE IT F******G MATTERS MATE!

Newcastle going down in 2009 upset me a bit. Never nice to see a big, respectable club with proper fans go down.

Messing, it was boss.

So t'was....

It used to annoy me that Villa always managed to escape relegation, only for the reason that I thought that they would always get their sh** together and be competing with us for Europe the next season.

As it turns out, they never challenged us, so I'm not really that bothered that they have stayed up

I for one am miffed that Barnsley went down after just one season (although if they hadn't.....)

Can you imagine what Chico's preview of Barnsley would be like if they'd survived all these years? I think there would be civil war between us and Yorkshire. Then 500 years later we'd find Chico inexplicably buried under a car park in Southport.
