I know QPR and Reading are long gone, but this looks like it might be one of the most exciting relegation fights in recent years, with Wigan battling against no more than seven(!) other teams to avoid the drop.

The league currently looks like this, with Stoke (tonight, Sunderland away), Wigan (Tues, home to Swansea) and Sunderland (tonight, home to Stoke) having a game in hand:

(pos, team, played, goal diff, points)

11 - Stoke 35 -10 40
12 - Fulham 36 -11 40
13 - Aston Villa 36 -21 40
14 - Southampton 36 -11 39
15 - Norwich 36 -22 38
16 - Newcastle 36 -23 38
17 - Sunderland 35 -12 37
-------------
18 - Wigan 35 -22 35

Now, if Wigan don't win against Swansea then they deserve to go down. Swansea have been a disgrace since winning the cup and are there for the taking. A win for them tomorrow puts them in fifteenth and on 38 points, with then Arsenal away and Villa home. I think most people expect them to take four more points minimum from their games = 39 points.

Fulham may drop, they have Liverpool home and Swansea away. I fancy them to lose both.

Sunderland have two home games (Stoke, Southampton) so should have enough in them to stay up.

It's likely that Southampton and Villa will both be needing points on the final day...
Southampton have: Sunderland (a), Stoke (h)
Villa have: Chelsea (h), Wigan (a)

It looks like Norwich, like Wigan, need to beat West Brom at home to stay up. Their other fixture is City away.

Then Newcastle. If Wigan beat Swansea tomorrow they are done for imo. QPR away and Arsenal at home. I think they'll pick up one more point.

It's gonna be ace... unless of course Wigan lose to Swansea and it's all settled. :(

I'd cry with happiness if Newcastle dropped, but think it's gonna be either Norwich or Wigan.

That Wolkswinkel fella would be gutted agreeing a deal to move to Premiership Norwich in January only to end up arriving and playing in the second tier!

If Southampton drop there will be vultures galore for some of their players... Shaw, Lallana, Ramirez. Wouldn't mind us signing the former and latter...

Good OP. Norwich is interesting. I honestly think if they don't beat WBA they will go down.

I actually said sunderland the a few weeks before they beat us,but if they win tonight [which i think they will] and wigan beat swansea tomorrow [which i think they will],then think its the toon in big trouble

At this stage I think it will come down to who is up for the fight and who isn't. I think it'll be either Norwich or Newcastle that drop.

Norwich are in a good position to come back up / not have to sell all their players if they go down.

Newcastle on the other hand might have another mass exodus on their hands. Yippey! Gonna be so gutted if it's Wigan who go down, or Norwich, not arsed about them, but will be so happy if it's Newcastle or Sunderland. Or even Villa, but that's now very unlikely.

I'd cry happy tears of joy if those horse sparring, city rioting, brown ale drinking, shirtless idiots from the north east went down. You would quite literally be operating in a different league to us then Pardew. However, i've done the predictor and I have Norwich going down by a point, didn't see that one coming.

Yep, they've dropped like a stone in the ocean have Norwich. Two league wins this calendar year. I feel it'll be them, unfortunately. A nothing team; I want somebody exciting to go down.

Toon Tears, if you will.
