Release clauses

How do teams, such as us in terms of the villa centre mid, know what player's release clauses are?

Presumably either the player or their agent 'shares' the info when they are looking for a move.

Just seems strange that every now and then you see the transfer headline of a team offering the exact amount that triggers the release clause.

Agents negotiate on behalf of clubs and players.

They will know all and sundry about there clients.

It does tell you on FM what a players minimum release clause is, so that settles it... right?

I've always wondered about salaries/release clauses and such. Everything is always 'reported to be'...over here in the US, every player's salary in every sport is a matter of public data. We know exactly how much Joe Schmoe makes each season over the length of his contract.
