Referring to players by a nickname

Not as bad as pronouncing players name wrong, what was it ? 5 years we Fellaini and folk couldn't say his name right.
Fly-ni, fell-eye-ni etc etc

Fella on Radio Merseyside was calling Barkley "Bartlett" ffs before, comm even said "do you mean Ross Barkley," .... "yeah, yeah Bartlett."

and the amount that used to call James Beattie "Kevin." ffs Kevin is old enough to be his Grandad.
 

Rom and Jags are fine, Peanuts etc can burn though.

Perfectly summed up, they're abbreviations rather than tittish names, but Peanuts is embarassing.
Bainesy, Stonesy, Niasy and the like are fine too, but anyone who calls Tim Howard "Timmy" has some serious growing up to do.

I think Chico(azul) would like us to say things like "Oh good header Philip" and "Nice run Mr Mirallas".
