....I was in Spain last month staying at a friends villa. Went to a bar on Friday afternoon and Mike Dean was in there with his wife. He has a villa on the same complex. He was 4th Official at Liverpool/Newcastle less than 24 hours later and he’s in a Spanish bar.

Not a bad old life.

All it takes is a flight delay and he's in serious trouble.

Soccer Saturday had a piece about John Moss today.
Clearly trying to make him seem sound and not unfit and incompetent.

He owns a record shop which sells some decent gear.
Makes sense, didn't he play drums for Culture Club? Filled in for Rat Scabies in The Damned briefly too iirc.

Refs are crap everywhere. One of the lads in my local team was on a yellow last season when one of his boots came off. Ref made him go off the pitch to put it back on, then we he ran back on the pitch he got a second yellow for not waiting for permission to return.

Perhaps it's best for the VAR thread, however on MOTD Alan Shearer made a really good point about the incompetent use of VAR by the referees.

There's already been so many dubious decisions made using VAR, that's putting it nicely, yet not once has a referee actually used the TV available to view it.

We're onto nearly ninety games and not once has it been used, nor has VAR been used to give a penalty this season. Incompetent? I think it's more than that.

I've always suggested that referees have been under a lot of pressure because they've had to make split second decisions, when judged by slow motion replays.

But they've now got something to aid them and for whatever reason they aren't actually using it, so they are deserving of the scrutiny they are receiving.

Er, Brighton away, when we were 2-1 up.

Are you of the RS persuasion, not realising that...?

I wrote that on the 20th of October, and we played them on the 26th: six days later. Last time I checked, I’m not Mystic Meg.

I stand corrected, and am happy to do so.

Only thing to add was that it was one of biggest 'non-penalties' ever...

And a 'middle finger' back at you...

Apology accepted, and as a result I'll discharge the middle finger I gave. It wasn't a penalty either, so I suspect it was given to rectify the fact they hadn't given any.

However while you can say you've had my wife etc, I don't like being called one of those shower.

I've changed yours to a like.

And that Brighton pen. I've reffed at junior football and sunday league level, and the person in the VAR room that gave Brighton that pen doesn't know the difference between a simple 'collision' between two players and a foul. A total game-changer...

'A cold and the 'flu' lol ; shows the feeble fitness standards in the league. Good job Mason wasn't put forward as he'll still be trying to put on his shirt.
