I know we still get a few howlers here and there but i think the standard has really improved.

Howard Webb in the United/Chelsea game was superb and after watching the two play off games both Mike Dean and Mike Halsey got all almost every decision right.

There's not many things in football that annoy me more than people who constantly moan and whinge about how bad referress are.

Unfortunatly it seems that since the onset of Sky with their numerous replays and angles the officials have been an easy target for people to blames losses on.

Too many people think referess are crap because they got a split second decision wrong compared to someone who watched it 27 times on replays with technology helping them out.

Sure its frustrating when decisions go against your team but the referree is their to give his view of incidents in the game, and how he sees it depends on many different factors.

They are only human and do the best they can in difficult circumstnaces knowing their performance will be analyzed by thousands of people.

Of course clattenburg is just a biased cheating turd but the vast majority are seemingly ok guys who ref the game as honestly as they can but are only human.

I understand your point, but refereeing in football overall is generally poor in comparison to other sports. That's why FIFA needs to get around to introducing video technology into the game, it takes the pressure away from the referee and until they do then the standard of refereeing won't improve. As you said we already have cameras at most professional matches, so there's no reason why video technology can't be introduced.
