Redundantcy or wavertree

Depends what the redundancy package is and how confident you are that you can get another job.Redundancy is horrible, but it's strangely quite calming once you have accepted it and gotten out of there, the uncertainty is gone, and you find yourself in a much better position mentally ready to go look for a new and hopefully happier job. Good luck with whatever you decide.

depends on your skills and demand.
You also need to consider if the company will still be trading in 12 months, if they go bust in the future you will get nothing.
I wouldnt rush into it.
Make a pro's vs con's list and score each item on the list on its importance out of 5.
Add up the totals and it will be deciced for you.

Afternoon guys. Went in to work today and got told they are closing the site where I work in Manchester. I have 2 options take redundancy or move to wavertree where we have another office. The down side, it cost's me over £100 a month in petrol currently travelling to Manchester by car. As wavertree is twice as far my cost of travelling to work will double. Also I've not been happy in my job for a while so this could be the ideal opportunity to start a fresh. However jobs we hard to come by so I'm really am in 2 minds what to do. On the plus side if I take the job at least I should nearer to more blues.

you can sit on your ar*e at home or you can sit on your ar*e driving the extra miles....and still get paid.... and you get the chance to do the Wavertree Wobble aka a drink in every pub stanrting at one end The Lamb ( as it used to be and maybe still is for all I know )...Do you know how many Pubs there are along that road? Hundreds well many dozens

Its a Job ffs

Given that this new train is gonna be going straight through here mate you could commute to LAAAAAAAAAAAAARNDAN in the same time, oh wait, we get the line, the terminals etc, but no station, not even 1 to get us to manc. Maximum disruption, minimum benefits (zero).

What is you local station that you would be travelling from mate?

I may, or may not, work in the rail industry so can check up on the cheapest options for you.

take the redundancy money and then apply at the wavertry firm explaining how you have lots of experience in the field. haha

hi mate cheers. I live in leigh. So I think the nearest train station is Newton-le willows (cheers reidy) I need to be in wavertree by latest 6,45 in morning. There is a train station in daisy hill but don't think I can get to wavertree from there.

The earliest train from NLW to Wavertree is at 6:01am and gets you there for 06:31am mate.

You can get a train pass (NLW - Mrail Area A/C1) for £22.50 a week or £77.60 a month.

Cheers fella, looks like I will have to get the bike out and cycle the 6 miles to Newton-le-willows

First train you could catch from Daisy Hill to Wigan is at 7:12am mate and then from Wigan North Western to Wavertree is at 07:38 which gets you there for 8:16am but I'm guessing that will be too late for you?
