Redknapp isn't bitter....

Redknapp, now manager at QPR, adds: "This isn't about them giving the England job to me or Roy Hodgson, but English football being run by people who really haven't got a clue. And they get to pick the England manager!

"Everyone said I was the people's choice, the only choice. All the senior players seemed to be up for me to get the job. I got quite a few text messages at the time from players saying they would love me to manage England: Steven Gerrard, Wayne Rooney, Rio Ferdinand, John Terry.

"But the FA went for Roy Hodgson to be the England manager - a man who is more their cup of tea."

So this isn't about him not getting the job.......but it actually is.

ARRRGHHH WAS JUST ABOUT TO DO THIS THREAD

What an absolute weapon he is.
Former Tottenham manager Harry Redknapp reveals he was so confident of becoming England manager that he asked Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers, then at Swansea, to be his assistant at Euro 2012.
Redknapp was in the running to succeed Fabio Capello before the Football Association opted for Roy Hodgson.

Writing in his new autobiography, serialised in the Daily Mail, Redknapp says: "I wouldn't trust the FA to show me a good manager if their lives depended on it. How would they know? What clubs have they ever run? Who do they speak to who really knows the game?"

AHAHAHAHAHA

He's not wrong though is he?

He was a massive favourite for the job & given the opposition, imo definitely the right choice.

But the suits went for good old 'safe' Woy, who was the most uninspiring appointment imaginable.

I think he should shut his flabby fuc*ing mouth the tax evading bung giving knobhead. He's an ok manager, but he's an absolute arsehole of a bloke. It pleases me to see that his equally abhorrent son is slowly turning into an ever so slightly better looking version of him, which still ranks just below the elephant man.

Got to agree with this.

I think he was the best option but he shot himself in the foot by talking about it at every opportunity, which also coincided with Spurs slipping out of the Champions League places after a very good season.

If he'd kept his mouth shut the job would've been his.

As a manager he was qualified for the job, as a person not so much. The F.A want someone who won't embarrass them, he surely would have. My main complaint with him is he spawned Jamie the gobsh*te.

Even then mate, he was asked every single day about it.

He thought it was his.

Frightening thing is though, if Woy went under a bus tomorrow, the subs bench is pretty uninspiring.

Woy is a better manager than Redknapp though

Redknapp and Rodgers would have them playing much better togger than what's on show at the minute, regardless of their c*ntish demeanours.

It looked like a certainty though, especially after that 5-0 at home to Newcastle.
