I want to make a point about the RS. My point doesn't need a thread all to itself and it doesn't fit anywhere else, so I thought I'd start a red thread!

I've just read that they've sold Kuyt to Fenerbache for £1m. I know he was in the last year of his contract, but I'm quite surprised that they've let him go and especially for such a low figure.

Rodgers has also said that he won't actively persue Sigurdsson but that if the player opted not to join Swansea now that he has left that he would then be interested. Gylfi would surely only join the Swans out of loyalty now since, if they appoint Wigan's assistant manager Greame Jones as their new boss, they'd have to be amongst the favourites for relegation. How would Rodgers be able to accommodate the Icelandic international and Gerrard in the same side though, especially if he played both Carroll and Saurez up front?

Carroll did hit form at the end of the season. If he carries it in to the Euros it will be difficult for Rodgers to leave him out and he's not going to drop Saurez.

I'd have thought that Rodgers would have kept Steve Clarke on too, knowing him from Chelsea, but it looks like he's being replaced by Colin Pascoe. I could have sworn that he used to play for Charlton, but apparently not.

About 1 in 4 for Liverpool and Holland. Hopefully Downing has a twin brother they can replace him with. The transfer fee will help to pay about 20% of Rodgers' compo too.

It seems like Saurez and Skrtel are both pondering moves to the continent. I can see Reina thinking about heading back to Spain as well, since his calls for Rafael to be re-instated went unheard. How much of a future can Charlie Adam really have too if he has to compete with Lucas, Gerrard, Henderson and maybe Sigurdsson, Aquilani and Diame?
