Red Card Appealed

If it doesn't get overturned then the Bigwigs can kiss my arsh, we shouldn't even have to be appealing it, it should've been overturned by them immediately, maybe even during the game and the 4th official brought on to replace Atkinson.

They'll slap an extra game on it, just for being cheeky
If they do, I'll fume.

I agree with Reidy. We shouldn't have to appeal.
Either Atkinson should hold his hand up, say "I ****** up" and the red should just be rescinded or there should be some mechanisim in place for the FA to automatically say "that was wrong, we can't undo it and replay the match, but we can rescind it without an appeal"

no chance of either, but it would be nice ...

Whatever happens with this appeal, Moyes should start calling for some kind of replay system to be available to referees during play, its the only thing that will prevent this happening in a couple of derbys time.

I don't understand what is so hard about having another official looking at the game on the TV at the side of the pitch, who can immediately look at replays and reverse bad decisions. It'd take ten seconds out of the game.

The only real reason why they won't is because it hampers the corruption undoubtedly going on.

I don't even think it's a conspiracy theory - there's high level corruption all over the world, and the Premier League is on a par with South America for it.

The only way for the FA to gain any respect in this case would be if they were to rescind the red card and slap a 5 match ban on Suarez for simulation. I reckon 99% of football fans in the country would applaud that.

Not a chance it will happen though

It'll be overturned for sure. If it isn't, I'll personally start a protest against the FA and march on their headquarters.

The tennis system is the best. Not only does it make the game fairer, it also adds another tactical dimension, as you have to use your calls sparingly and not protest every single thing.

Admittedly they're vastly different games, but if anyone thinks the real reason they won't look into camera technology is because "it would slow the game down" then they're being a wee bit naive.

As for the red, I've got a weird feeling it won't be rescinded, but surely it will. It wasn't even a foul ffs. If it had been the other way around then Kenny would be getting a lot more out of it than a lifted ban. Atkinson would be hung, drawn and quartered and they'd probably get compo!

Corruption & protection of assets, that's what.

Fine if it's overturned, but we don't really win anything by it, except for Rodwell being free to play. Only satisfactionary result for me would be a formal apology from the FA and Mr. Atkinson, the derby being replayed from the start with Suarez on a yellow card before the game started.

I know that's not gonna happen, so I guess I'll just stay a bitter blue.,

I hope it's repealed fast enough for Rodwell to join our next game. And I think it being repealed will help his confidence. He truly was getting better by game, a three game break is not going to be good for him.
