The pilot was thrown from the aircraft according to the news, an image of the plane is just shocking, completely wrecked.

I hope this doesn't sound weird, but at least he died doing something he enjoyed. Much better way of going than the majority.

Whilst he was young (33) i do agree, there must be nothing more thrilling than flying, and knowing you are a part of the best pilots in Britain/Europe.

It sounds like something from a movie, but just heard from a report on the news, one of the local people said he tried to avoid the local population and steer towards a field before trying to eject, guess it was too late by that time though.

plane went down right behind my house - no more than a mile away, poor guy and his family. All those looting sh*tbags are alive and a talented guy like that is gone.

RED ARROWS CRASH PILOT DIES A HERO

A RED ARROWS pilot was hailed a hero yesterday after he steered his stricken jet away from houses moments before the crash that killed him.
Flight Lieutenant Jon Egging encountered difficulties as he took part in a daredevil air display with the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, which he joined in April last year.
Witnesses told how the 33-year-old bravely wrestled with the controls of his aircraft, steering it away from more than a dozen homes.
Locals in the tiny village of Throop in Dorset described yesterday how the plane, which usually carries out carefully orchestrated manoeuvres at 500mph, was barely 50ft above ground as it was guided by the deft former Harrier pilot.
One local farmer said Flt Lt Egging tried to eject but it was too late. Moments later, his aircraft hit the ground and “bounced’ across fields before it came to rest in the River Stour. Nicholas Gore, 22, from Throop, was walking with a friend near the river when he saw all nine Red Arrows shoot past.

Anytime I hear about something like this, I always think back to that Italian flying group that had that horrible crash at Rammstein AFB. That one was awful.

I live literally 2 minutes walk from where he crashed the plane, usually take me dog for a walk in the area that he crashed. Saw the 8 of them flying over my house, must be seconds after that he crashed.
Quality those red arrow pilots are though, thoughts are with his family. RIP

Was good to see the arrows back in the air again today. Saw them flying over Welton twice and then again whilst out on my bike!
