Rear Registration Plates (UK)

Hi folks,

Anyone else noticed lately that some cars have a rear registration plate that is only ever so slightly yellow? Almost white even.

Anyone know why?

Yeah noticed this. They look faded at first but it must be deliberate.

I thought all rear plates had to be reflective yellow?

Might be something to do with ANPR cameras? That said, doubt it. Not noticed anyrate, but will take more notice tomorrow,

Hmmm Probably. If they're stopped they will probably argue that they're a lighter shade of yellow, but still technically yellow.

Its plastic cover that fits over the top of the plate, front and rear usually.

Standard kit for the Audi driver.

Remember when HGV drivers used to have banks of cd discs on the insides of their windscreens to reflect the flash back onto spred cameras

wonder if that actually worked. youd of thought it must have to loads of hgvs to of done it

They freaked me out when I first saw them as I thought I was losing my sight or something. The problem is they have a very very very slight hint of yellow in so it gives off the impression that you're sight is slightly off if you have never seen one before.

I work for a company that prints and manufactures number plates . All cars registered in the UK should have a yellow rear plate .
